The TR 400 is a refined development of the tremendously successful TAL XM. It is a two-way compact loudspeaker, and manages the brilliant feat of combining the tonal and spatial qualities of the classic compact two-way loudspeaker with the bass underpinning and dynamic deep bass performance of larger floor-standing units to produce a delightful loudspeaker. As with all TL models, the cabinets are extremely stiff and resonance-free, because they are made of a laminated wood material. For the mid-range / deep bass area the phenomenal new GREYCONE® drive unit is employed; this has an extremely low bottom limit frequency with an excellent ability to cope with extreme levels.
In the mid-range this speaker provides an incredibly free, open sound without any hint of coloration. Solid bi-amping terminals, an extremely low-loss crossover unit incorporating a new type of coil offering low saturation and distortion, and an accurately matched bass reflex system - these are the essential features of this faultless little loudspeaker.
