To some extent the TS 300 can be considered as a reduced-scale copy of the large TS 200. Its cabinet is smaller, and so are its two bass drivers. However, the technology and overall design concept are the same, and the sound image of the TS 300 is commensurately impressive; the only compromise is its slightly reduced maximum sound pressure and ultra-low bass capability. Like the larger model, the cabinet is of moulded laminated wood construction, and is therefore totally rigid and resonance-free. The speaker is fitted with the identical ingenious mid-range unit with its slotted GREYCONE® cone, while the bass units also feature GREYCONE® cones and an extremely sophisticated magnet system. As with all models in the TL range, the high-frequency unit is our super annular tweeter.
The sophisticated, double-sided, three-way cross-over unit (FSR) is constructed using components of the very highest quality. Carefully calculated and optimised for optimum cone travel and radiation characteristics, it is also capable of coping effortlessly with extremely high signal levels. The crossover maintains perfect control of the three frequency ranges, and plays a crucial role in the superb sound imaging and radiation characteristics of the entire system.
