The LGS 10 is a fully developed floorstanding speaker, and is a true beauty: slender, graceful and incredibly well proportioned. Just 15 cm wide, 17 cm deep and only 120 cm tall, the elegant wooden cabinet appears much smaller than it really is. For the fi rst time we have succeeded in developing such slim and finely moulded loud-speaker cabinets using genuine timber. Based on the manufacturing process developed for the cabinets of our high-end TCI series, the new LIGNUM speakers are also made of laminated beech. The net result is that the LIGNUM cabinets possess all the basic requirements for superb sound qualities as well as offering stunning appearance.The technical equipment of these speakers is just as refi ned as the cabinets themselves: all models feature our unique annular super-tweeter for the high-frequency range; this unit has been widely admired and is now produced in a further developed form; its signifi cantly improved peak handling, linear frequency response, enormous dynamic capability and low harmonic distortion provide a level of high-frequency reproduction which is unique in this class.
The 14 cm bass / midrange units are extremely long-throw types. The symmetrical position of the two bass / mid-range units around the high-frequency driver - the D’Apolito arrangement - provides virtually perfect sound imaging characteristics, and this benefi ts surround set-ups as well as conventional stereo reproduction. Even without their superb appearance, these loudspeakers are a genuine pleasure to every audiophile listener.
