Digital active speaker - SOLITAIRE  A2D

 

 

For the first time the unit defined the true meaning of the term "digital speaker": not a digital device wired in front of a perfectly conventional loudspeaker, but a solidly digital signal processing system right up to the cross-over units. To achieve this feat of active power the A2D is equipped with four discrete power amplifiers, each rated at 150 Watts. The bass output is monitored opto-elctronically. A total of nine high-performance signal processors control the data processing system. They calculate the optimum gradients for the cross-over unit filters up to a maximum of 300 dB per octave, they eliminate speaker phase errors, and they ensure a linear frequency response in the listening room from the most profound bass range right up to the supersonic regions. For all Solitaire speakers you can measure the frequency response in the living room with the T+A MEP-System.
